Gardening tips to keep you comfortable and pain-free
While many people love to spend time gardening through the spring, summer and fail, it’s easy to find yourself dealing with knee pain or backaches afterward. Aileen Cuenca-Williams, physical therapist, offered a few quick tips for how to spend time in your garden without struggling with discomfort, back pain or leg pain.
In this short video, she not only offered ideas for how to stay comfortable kneeling, sitting, or even standing while working in your garden, she also gave examples of supplies you can find within your home to decrease back strain while working in the garden.
Her most important advice? Move consistently, move often, and stretch your muscles as you go to relieve strain on your knees and joints. If you follow this advice, time spent gardening should be more comfortable.
Just make sure you stay hydrated and don’t overdo it in the sun!
